Artist / illustrator / land-worker

“Emily’s artistic practice is rooted in collaboration, community visibility, and hands-on making. She brings a warm, energetic approach to facilitation, helping people find creative confidence and collective voice.”
- Andy Furlonger @ WWDN network / The Stove Network

Dumfries & Galloway based. I am by nature a reportage illustrator, documenting the world around me through drawing and listening. Though my artistic practice integrates a variety of mediums; collage, installation, print and performance. As well as socially engaged projects that support connection to self, community and environment.

My community work encourages collaboration, conversation and hands-on making. Using workshop facilitation to explore and connect with chosen themes, while nurturing the unique friendship which comes with making and learning together. I aim to empower marginalised members of our communities and shift structural power.

My work has become more and more entwined with land justice and food sovereignty. Belonging to the food and land collective Propagate has become a big part of what I do and informs a lot of my work and ethics.
